When to pronounce A instead of O?

I am learning Russian. I don't understand when should I pronounce O and when A.
Can anybody explain me that?

Hi Brandon,
The answer to this question is in the Blog -Accent Mark in Russian Textbooks.

But the rule is : unstressed O is pronounced like A.
