This question refers to book READING RUSSIAN.

To be translated from English to Russian:
What is that? Those are glasses.

Audio and answer key both say:
Что это? Это очки.

But based on the sentences to be translated, should the answer be:
Что то? То очки.

Reason: The sentences state "that" instead of "this".

Is 7 also incorrect for the same reason? I have the 5th edition.

Also, the text on page 24 says Я is pronounced "yu" but audio correctly is more "ya".

Hello enkiops,
Thank you for your post.
Yes, you are right, number 7 should be: Is this a cigarette? Yes, this is a cigarette.
We corrected it to match the audio.

Regarding yu in yummy and ya in yard. We also corrected it to match the alphabet. To my ear those 2 sounds are the same.
