Cyrillic Alphabet

I purchased RSBS and I found it difficult to learn Cyrillic Alphabet just by reading. Those Russian letters: Н, Х, Я, Щ... there are too many of them and they are confusing. Any suggestions how to make it fun and easy?
How long does it usually take to learn Cyrillic alphabet?

You can learn the alphabet the traditional way by memorizing it by heart, but the quickest way to learn it is by reading the real words and sentences.

Just start reading and listening to the exercises. Consult the Alphabet table each time you don’t know the letter or hesitate.

And another thing: do a lot of writing!

According to the statistics the majority of the people are visual learners

There is a Workbook for RSBS. It is especially written for those who don’t have a tutor and study on their own

Olga: Yes, Workbook Reading Russian was written as a supplement for the RSBS. We got feedbacks from our students who had similar problems. They were asking for help in learning Cyrillic Alphabet.

Reading Russian can help you to learn the Alphabet for 6 days effortlessly, if you spend 30 min a day on doing all exercises in the book, including audio.

I also bought Russian Step By Step textbook first and I did not have much time to do all those exercises as the Russian Step By Step recommends: to read words, listen to the audio and connect letters to the sounds.

Then I bought the Workbook and it helped. You spend $20 ($15 the book + $5 for the download the sound from the website) and you don’t have any problems reading Russian. I recommend buying that book if you want to make learning alphabet easier.

It took me about 2 weeks: I did not study every day.

It only took me 3 days, but I studied every day, sometimes more than once a day.

I bought just the Read Russian Step by Step Work Book and I love it. I was born in Russia & adopted by my folks; who are American. The sad part was that over the years they slowly made me more and more American & now I lost all my Russian Roots. I am hoping this will help me get some of the Russian that is distilled in my brain out along with I learn more about the culture that I left behind. I also have several other books also. biggrin

Over all I love the book I just got done with Lessons 1-4 today and it was simple and fun.... Defiantly write the words a lot of times & I also found writing out the pranoucation of the words & sentences really helped me understand and memorize the words.

I am on line with the audio because in the process of the book being mailed the CD got ruined.
So, I made the account on here and the only thing is I don't know how to Download the Tracks to my Ipod.

Dear Fallingamber,
We are glad to hear that you liked our books.
If you want to download it to your IPod, you can do it in 2 steps.
First you have to download the tracks on your computer and afterwards to your IPod.
You mentioned that the CD got ruined. Did you buy it from us? Usually we pack our parcels securely, but, if it's our fault, we can send the replacement.
